Forced slow life!? - Chapter 1
I finish my morning study time early.
From the perspective of me, a former Japanese person, as long as you learn to read and write characters, then clear the history, geography, and mythology study, there’s no problem.
I didn’t like history when I was in Japan, but this world’s history is often linked to mythology and becomes like a story. And the mythology is simply interesting. It seems that there are traces of actual gods existing in this world.
Today, my father isn’t home, and my mother also went out with my father.
Well, they’re just in the town office that’s visible from the second floor window of the mansion.
My house is a viscount family, but the territory itself isn’t big.
The territory itself has a history, but there aren’t many local products of the territory itself, so we aren’t very wealthy nobles. That’s why there aren’t many servants, so they won’t find me if I sneak into the basement.
“Hehehehehe”
There is a secret in my mansion.
This is the home of a noble who managed the village where the protagonist Eugene lived.
Well, that doesn’t mean that I’m related to him by blood. My father was originally a noble from the royal capital, but it seems that he received many rewards and was given this land along with the mansion.
He hasn’t taught me the details. My mother said that she would teach me later, but I’m concerned about the fact that she’s dodgy about it.
Nobles have the role of giving Jobs to talented citizens.
Developing their own territory and protecting the lives of the people is the basic job of a lord, but it’s also a fine job to give Jobs to the appropriate people among the citizens in the territory.
This is the place where Eugene was given the Job Book and taught how to fight.
In other words, this is the place where the tutorial was held.
What kind of good luck is it to be born in this land?
“It’s probably around here.”
There’s an altar in the basement where the lord gives occupation books to people. This can also be found in the mansions of lords in other cities. At least that’s how it was in the game.
But here is the playing field of the tutorial. In other words, everything should be prepared to train Eugene, who was given the job. The altar was the same as before, even though it seems to have been over 200 years ago. It’s amazing that it’s been preserved until now.
Well, anyway, it’s a “tutorial dungeon”.
The protagonist Eugene took his first step as a warrior here, and Milfa took her first step as a priestess here.
It’s also a place where you select which job to take after receiving an explanation of all the jobs.
That’s right. It’s a place where you can experience all the jobs.
When I played as a game, I made Eugene a warrior because he’s the protagonist, and I thought it was good to progress with recovery items at first, so I made Milfa a magician.
First, warriors get a weapon they’re good at.
When you become a magician, you choose your own attribute.
“There it is!”
A brick wall behind the altar.
There’s a secret on that wall.
One of the bricks near the pillar is removable, and if you take that brick and press it against another brick, a door appears.
This brick gimmick is one of the gimmicks of the tutorial dungeon and doesn’t deteriorate.
I remembered it because the lord at the time explained it while opening it in a non-skippable movie.
Like magic, probably magic, a white door appeared without a sound. When I opened that door, there was a straight passage. And then stairs.
Originally, it would have been pitch black, but this is already a dungeon. The walls are dimly lit and the visibility is good.
Suppressing my feelings that almost made me skip a beat, I quickly go down the stairs and come to a large open space.
It’s a bare ground, a place like a playing field.
Each one of the weapons and other things that can be selected for a job at the beginning are placed along the walls.
Warriors have swords, shields, axes, spears, and knives.
Magicians have grimoires, two-handed staffs, and knives. And attribute crystals that give you aptitude.
Archers have short bows and long bows, knives, and arrows for each.
Thieves have short bows and crossbows, knives.
Priests have one-handed staffs and two-handed staffs, books of healing, and books of protecting.
Choose your favorite from each of these and the first tutorial will begin.
Of course, you can also make changes to deal with items obtained in future adventures. Rather, you can learn things repeatedly.
“Muhahahaha”
Since each job is chosen in a different place, a counter is set up there.
I go to one of the counters, the counter to become a magician.
If it were the protagonist of a game, I should have chosen a warrior who can use a sword, but in this fantasy world, I want to use magic!
Normally, there should be someone here, but there’s no one here now. In the game, if you just stand in front of the counter, the receptionist would explain about being a magician, but since there’s no one, nothing starts.
I go around the counter and look in it.
There were about 6 books placed there.
A job book that lets you become a magician, the “Book of Mages”.
I can’t suppress the grin on my face, but there’s no problem since there’s no one around.
I pick this up.
“How do I use it?”
In the game, you just had to select “use” and it would just ask, “Do you want to become a magician?” But this isn’t a game, so I don’t know.
I sit in the chair that was in the counter and open the book on my knees.
“Fumu fumu”
It’s written with things like what a magician is.
The content is thin compared to the thickness of the book. While thinking that, I can naturally tell that I’m settling into the job. I think the book is slightly glowing.
It’s written about how the Magician was born and some of the myths that I was taught in the learning sessions.
I skimmed to the end and closed the book. When I did that, the Book of the Magician lost its light……This is a typical fantasy phenomenon, right?
The book itself should be kept safely and not lost. Because after changing into another occupation, this book will be necessary to change back.
Anyways, I’ve gained a mysterious feeling that somehow I have obtained an occupation and this is no longer just my imagination.
From now on I’m a Magician!
